Words are the tools we use to tell stories. Stories are what we use to delude ourselves and others into believing that we understand. I am strictly less than the sum of my experiences. Free will is a useful approximation. Predictability is a necessary condition for trust. Telling the truth is about helping others construct good models for making decisions. Discrimination is in essence a failure to understand that correlation does not imply causality. A principle doesn’t have to always work to be worth striving to preserve. Belief in an absolute moral authority is unnecessary if there are no disputes and useless if there are.
